Brand Identity for Place
Places are not logos. But districts, campuses, and buildings need shared language to coordinate institutions and public experience.

Place-based identity begins with movement: how people arrive, pause, and depart. Graphic systems must map to those flows rather than sit as decorative overlays on architecture.
For district-scale work, we develop identity architecture—parent mark, institution sub-brands, campaign frames—so governance structures remain visible while public experience feels unified.
Colour from context
Palette development starts on site. We sample mortar, water, vegetation, and existing signage. Accent colours for institutions derive from façade materials or interior linings, not from trend forecasts.
This method produced the institution-specific accents in Axis Cultural District: theatre crimson from existing curtain lining, library cobalt from original tile work.
Identity as maintenance plan
A place brand fails without stewardship. We deliver guidelines with replacement cycles for signage materials, template ownership, and approval paths for seasonal campaigns.
Graphic identity should be maintainable by municipal or institutional staff—not dependent on the original design studio in perpetuity.
